Deputy Governor of Bali Waits for Jokowi's Instructions on Israel at the World Beach Games
It seems that the Vice Governor of Bali, Tjokorda Oka Artha Ardhana Sukawati, is waiting for guidance from President Joko Widodo regarding the participation of Israeli athletes in the ANOC World Beach Games 2023, which is scheduled to be held in Bali. This comes after the rejection of Israeli athletes in the 2023 U-20 World Cup, which resulted in FIFA canceling Indonesia's status as the host country.
Cok Ace, as he is commonly known, stated that the rejection of Israeli athletes in the U-20 World Cup was a valuable lesson and that they are waiting for guidance from the central government, specifically from the President. It is important to note that Israeli athletes have already qualified for the ANOC World Beach Games 2023 in various sports, including open water swimming and 3x3 basketball.
Despite the previous rejection of Israeli athletes, the Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee, Raja Sapta Oktohari, has confirmed that the ANOC World Beach Games 2023 will still be held in Bali and will feature 14 different sports. The event is currently scheduled to take place from August 5-12, 2023.
